Full Stack Java Developer - Daily rate contract My client based in Dublin City Centre is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to join their technology team, supporting the development of business-critical applications within a fast-paced financial services environment. This is a daily rate contract for 6 months. Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite This is a hands-on development role focused on designing, building and enhancing scalable, secure and high-performing applications. Working as part of an Agile team, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, developing both front-end and back-end solutions while collaborating closely with business and technology stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java and modern development frameworks. Build and enhance scalable, secure and high-performing applications. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services. Design and implement responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies. Analyse, troubleshoot and resolve application issues across the full technology stack. Perform testing, debugging and performance optimisation to ensure application reliability. Collaborate with business users, technology teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices. Support Agile delivery through sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives. Mentor junior team members where appropriate and contribute technical expertise across the team. Ensure development activities comply with security, governance and risk management standards. Required Skills & Experience 2–5 years' experience as a Full Stack Java Developer, ideally within financial services. Strong Java development experience, including Spring Boot. Experience developing front-end applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript and Angular or a similar framework. Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs. Solid SQL skills with experience working with relational databases such as Oracle. Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines. Experience working within Agile development environments. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Skills Experience with JUnit, Mockito or similar testing frameworks. Knowledge of Python. Exposure to AI tools or AI integration. Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark. Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies. Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.
