Role: QA Tester Location: Remote Description: Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented QA Tester who takes pride in delivering high-quality software and has a passion for finding defects before they reach production. You are experienced in both manual and automated testing, thrive in an Agile environment, and communicate clearly with developers, product managers, and stakeholders. You bring a methodical mindset, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement. This position reports to the Director of Software Development. Responsibilities: Test Planning & Execution Design, write, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across the Beacon platform. Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and user acceptance testing across web and application platforms. Identify, document, and track defects through their full lifecycle using issue-tracking tools such as Jira, ensuring clear and reproducible bug reports. Validate that software releases meet defined acceptance criteria and are production-ready before deployment. Automation & Tooling Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test suites using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress. Identify repetitive test scenarios suitable for automation and assist in implementing them to improve testing efficiency. Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous delivery and rapid release cycles. Collaboration & Agile Delivery Work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and provide early QA input on feature development. Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Communicate testing status, quality metrics, and risk assessments clearly to the team and stakeholders. Advocate for quality best practices and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives across the engineering team. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing roles, preferably in a SaaS or healthcare technology environment. Hands-on experience writing and executing detailed test cases and bug reports. Proficiency with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira or TestRail. Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, REST APIs) and how they affect testing strategies. Basic scripting or programming ability in at least one language such as Python or JavaScript. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments with cross-functional product and engineering teams. Personal Competencies: Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a drive to understand how systems behave under real-world conditions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to document issues clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. High sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of the products you test and ship. Collaborative team player who actively contributes to team culture, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
