Full Time - Sr. Data Engineer

We have an immediate contract opportunity for a Sr. Data Engineer Full Time with one of our client McLane Sr. Data Engineer Location: 3800 Quick Hill Road Austin, TX 78728 (3 days onsite) Client : McLane MOI : 2 rounds virtual, final interview onsite Intro Summary We re seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer who thrives on solving complex data challenges and building scalable, enterprise grade solutions. This role is ideal for a detail oriented, analytical professional with deep SQL expertise and experience supporting data warehouses, analytics platforms, and batch processing environments. What You Ll Do Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server Support and enhance enterprise Data Warehouse architectures, including dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for automation and batch scheduling Work with Mainframe datasets and utilities to extract and integrate data Build and support datasets and data models for IBM Cognos Analytics reporting Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high quality data solutions Troubleshoot data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures What We Re Looking For Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role Advanced SQL expertise across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts (ETL, dimensional modeling, data marts, OLAP) Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.) Experience with Mainframe systems (JCL, datasets, utilities) Hands on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tools
