Description

Our client is a Y Combinator-backed legal AI company that recently became part of a category-leading enterprise contract-intelligence platform. Together they are rebuilding how the world's largest companies review, negotiate, and manage contracts, turning static legal documents into AI-native software. Their platform already governs millions of contracts for Fortune 500 enterprises across technology, pharmaceuticals, and automotive. You would join a small, founder-led team that moves at startup speed with the resources and reach of an enterprise leader behind it. The Role They are hiring a Product Designer who lives at the intersection of high-fidelity UI craft and AI-native product thinking. You will own the full product experience end to end, from customer discovery to production-ready interfaces, and put your fingerprints on a design system built from scratch. What You'll Do • Own the full design lifecycle: user research, wireframes, high-fidelity Figma designs, and production UI, without handing off to someone else. • Establish and evolve a design system and component library from the ground up. • Join customer calls regularly to build deep empathy for complex enterprise workflows and translate them into intuitive, AI-native interfaces. • Prototype ideas into polished, presentable MVPs to validate interactions fast, using React and TypeScript (AI-assisted coding welcome), not just static Figma mockups. • Collaborate with engineers to define API contracts and connect frontend UI to backend systems. • Work directly with the founders on product direction, prioritization, and design quality. What We're Looking For • 5+ years as a product designer or design engineer, owning design through functional prototyping. • A strong portfolio with polished, high-fidelity visual craft and clear end-to-end product work. • Experience designing B2B or complex workflow products. • Ability to take a design to a functional, presentable prototype, hand-coded or AI-assisted (Claude Code, Codex, or similar). • Proficiency in Figma, from wireframe to high fidelity, independently. • Startup DNA: high agency, bias to action, and fast iteration. Bonus Points • Experience at an early-stage, VC-backed startup with a strong design culture. • AI-native, legal tech, or AI-adjacent product experience. • You have built and shipped a design system from scratch. Compensation and Benefits • Base salary $180K to $270K, plus competitive equity and benefits. Location and Work Model • On-site in New York City, 4 to 5 days per week. Relocation is supported. Existing visa transfers considered (H-1B transfer, TN); no new visa sponsorship.
