Your new role As research scientist you will be part of a small ambitious and multidisciplinary team working focused on developing a new drug for treating a brain disease. Key responsibilities: ·      Planning and executing experiments to test novel drugs and understand in detail their mechanism of action. ·      In vivo neuroscience work in the animal house including handling and injecting research mice, survival surgeries, and breeding management. ·      Some work at odd hours is expected (occasional evening and weekend work in the animal house). ·      Wet lab experiments such as in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. ·      Data analysis and reporting. We have regular social activities and off-site retreats.   What you bring to the team We are looking for a person with an interest in early drug development who can work independently and at the same time is a great team player. We are seeking a new colleague who works professionally and is cooperative as well as proactive. You have a high attention to detail and also keep a sense of perspective.   You bring the following qualifications: ·      Education: Master’s degree or PhD degree in the Life Science field. ·      Experience with handling and injecting research mice and with survival surgeries ·      Experience with immunohistochemistry or similar ·      Ability to work individually with a problem-solving attitude combined with a strong motivation for teamwork.  ·      Flexibility regarding work hours. ·      A structured and quality-minded approach to scientific work and documentation. ·      Fluency in English, as both work-related and social communication in the team take place in English   What we offer The position is full-time and based at the Panum Institute, University of Copenhagen, Blegdamsvej 3b, 2200 Kbh N. We aim for the start of the position on September 1st 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. We plan to conduct interviews in first half of August 2026.   Application deadline is July 31.
