Freelance Data Engineer / BI Developer About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Freelance Data Engineer / BI Developer to support the design, development, and optimization of our business intelligence platform. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of BI professionals to build scalable data solutions that enable informed business decisions across multiple business domains. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with modern Microsoft technologies, transforming complex data into meaningful insights, and collaborating closely with both technical and business stakeholders. Your Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models using dimensional modeling techniques, including star schema methodologies. Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver valuable business insights to a range of stakeholders. Integrate data from multiple source systems into a reliable and high-performing data warehouse environment. Work closely with business analysts, controllers, and other stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into technical solutions. Support self-service BI initiatives by assisting colleagues in developing and maintaining their own Power BI reports. Continuously improve existing BI solutions by enhancing performance, data quality, security, and scalability. Contribute to Agile delivery processes and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. What We're Looking For Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience). Previous experience delivering Business Intelligence or Data Engineering solutions. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and Kimball methodologies. Hands-on experience with: Microsoft Power BI Azure Data Platform Azure Databricks SQL Experience with Python, notebooks, Azure services, Jira, and Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) is considered a strong advantage. A proactive problem-solver with excellent analytical and communication skills. Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business teams. Passionate about staying current with emerging technologies within the Microsoft data ecosystem. Contract Details Freelance contract. Hybrid working arrangement with flexibility for remote work.
