Java Developer

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our remote engineering team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Java applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure software solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and databases Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, and DevOps teams Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture decisions Optimize application performance, scalability, and security Develop and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes Stay current with emerging Java technologies and development best practices Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field 2–5 years of experience in Java application development Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17 and object-oriented programming principles Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Hibernate/JPA Knowledge of RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture, and JSON/XML Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server Familiarity with version control systems such as Git Understanding of Maven or Gradle, unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito), and Agile methodologies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD tools Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis Java certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are a plus
