Description

Role Overview We are seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the resilience, scalability, and operational excellence of our Corporate Actions (GASS) platform. The platform processes voluntary and mandatory corporate action events — dividends, mergers, splits, rights issues, spin-offs, tender offers, and elections — across the full lifecycle from event capture and entitlement calculation through position impact, client notification, booking, and downstream publication. Built on a heterogeneous stack spanning C++, Java, Kafka, Sybase, Perl, Autosys, ProcMon, and MongoDB, the platform demands precision, auditability, and deterministic processing at every stage. Technology Stack Java (JVM), C++, Apache Kafka, Sybase (Stored Procedures), MongoDB, Perl Scripts, Autosys ProcMon, AWS, Kubernetes Must-Have Java multithreading, concurrency, basic JVM/GC diagnostics C++, ability to read, trace, and debug native components in a production codebase Apache Kafka - producer/consumer patterns, offset management, idempotency, retry handling Sybase stored procedures - reading, debugging, and maintaining SQL Perl scripting - debug and extend batch/ingest scripts in a production pipeline Autosys - job chaining, dependency management, failure recovery for batch processing ProcMon - process-level diagnostics during incident triage Test automation - integration and unit testing, regression coverage for event-driven workflows Production ownership - incident investigation, log analysis, RCA contribution, runbook maintenance Practical familiarity with AI-enabled development and operations tooling Good-to-Have Corporate actions domain - entitlement calculation, mandatory/voluntary events, elections, ex-date/pay-date processing, custody chains Snowflake / SQL - querying large datasets for reconciliation and data validation Observability - Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, structured logging Gradle / Maven - multi-module builds and dependency management AWS / Kubernetes - cloud and container platform awareness (added advantage)
