Senior Java Developer - Global Investment Bank - Hong Kong

Our client, a global investment bank in Hong Kong, are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join their growing Equity Derivatives Technology desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting critical systems used by front-office teams. You will design, develop, and enhance software components across the derivatives lifecycle. The role: Develop and maintain backend services/components in Java supporting equity derivatives workflows. Collaborate with quantitative researchers, business analysts, and trading/risk stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Write clean, testable code; create and maintain unit/integration tests and automate where appropriate. Participate in design reviews, provide technical guidance to peers, and contribute to platform engineering practices. Support production change delivery (UAT, release readiness) and assist in incident/problem investigations as needed. Improve system performance, scalability, and resilience (e.g., caching, async processing, retry/backoff, graceful degradation). Follow engineering standards for security, auditability, and operational controls (logging, monitoring, traceability). What you offer: 7+ years of relevant professional software development experience.
