Analyst Developer (Java) Industry: Insurance Employment Type: Contract / Freelance Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid) About the Role We are looking for an Analyst Developer to join a leading organization in the insurance industry . You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing high-quality software solutions while ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with development standards. This role requires a strong technical background in Java development, integration technologies, and API-based architectures, combined with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Key Responsibilities System Development Develop applications using Java Spring technologies based on detailed technical analyses. Perform integration and regression testing to ensure application consistency and reliability. Contribute to the continuous improvement of software quality and performance. Technical Analysis & Design Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and documentation. Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and define development solutions. Support architectural and technical decision-making processes. Testing & Quality Assurance Execute unit testing and support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). Analyze test results, identify defects, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with coding standards and development best practices. Implementation & Collaboration Apply coding standards, documentation practices, and development guidelines. Coordinate with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle. Contribute to continuous integration and deployment activities. Required Skills & Experience Must-Have Technical Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Initial experience in a similar Analyst Developer or Java Developer role. Experience preparing technical analyses and specifications. Strong knowledge of: Java Core & J2EE Spring Framework REST APIs & RESTful Services JDBC JMS Message Queues Apache Camel Git Maven and/or Gradle Jenkins Pipelines (CI/CD) JUnit, Mockito, PowerMockito Swagger Apache Tomcat Nice-to-Have Skills Jira Agile / Scrum methodologies Kibana Enterprise Architect JAXB & XSD standards Zephyr Experience within the insurance sector Languages Fluent English required. Dutch and/or French is considered an asset.
