About The Role The Data Analyst - Economic Insights & Communications role at Stripe is a strategic position focused on analyzing and interpreting data to highlight Stripe’s economic impact globally. As part of the Go-to-Market Analytics team, you will collaborate closely with Stripe's Communications teams to craft narratives around economic trends and Stripe’s role in fostering economic growth. Your expertise will be instrumental in constructing robust data pipelines, developing insightful dashboards, and generating compelling visualizations that demonstrate how Stripe facilitates broad economic development. This role offers a unique vantage point into real-time industry and macroeconomic trends, allowing you to uncover and communicate novel insights about the evolving economy and Stripe’s contribution to increasing the internet's GDP. You will lead research projects, test hypotheses, and produce reports and visual content that influence both internal strategies and external perceptions, including engaging with external vendors, academics, and think tanks to advance Stripe’s research and advocacy initiatives. Qualifications 4+ years of experience in analytical roles working with large datasets Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, or a related quantitative field Proficiency in SQL and Python Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using distributed data frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark Experience developing self-serve dashboards or scalable analytical tools for partner teams Strong knowledge of statistics and data analysis techniques Experience creating data-informed narratives and visualizations for external publication Demonstrated interest and experience in discussing economic trends publicly Ability to lead multiple projects with high attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Master’s degree in a relevant quantitative field or equivalent experience in data analytics within the tech industry Experience working with reputable institutions recognized for economic insights Familiarity with survey design and analysis Responsibilities Partner with Communications teams to design, scope, and lead research projects that showcase Stripe’s economic impact Generate hypotheses, perform rapid testing against Stripe data, and share key insights proactively Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and dashboards to extract insights from internal and external data sources Define and monitor key economic impact metrics to evaluate Stripe’s contributions Deep dive into business drivers, user segments, cohorts, and macroeconomic trends Prepare presentations, analyses, and visualizations for internal leadership and external audiences Collaborate with external vendors, academic institutions, and think tanks to support research initiatives and policy advocacy Identify and analyze emerging trends, producing social posts, blogs, reports, and campaign content leveraging Stripe data Work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize projects and meet ambitious deadlines Benefits Competitive annual salary range of $161,600 - $242,400 (US-based) Equity options and potential bonuses or sales commissions Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Wellness stipends and other employee benefits Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options in the United States or in-office locations in South San Francisco, New York, or Seattle Equal Opportunity Stripe is an equal opportunity employer.
