The platform combines Computer Vision, Machine Learning, real-time video analytics, and large-scale data processing to deliver actionable performance insights for athletes, broadcasters, and sports organisations. About the Role We are looking for a Backend Engineer (SDE 3) with strong Computer Vision and AI systems experience to build scalable backend platforms powering real-time sports intelligence. You will work on distributed AI systems, video processing pipelines, inference infrastructure, APIs, and cloud-native services that support production-grade AI applications. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges at the intersection of backend systems, computer vision, and machine learning. Key Responsibilities Build scalable backend services supporting AI and Computer Vision applications. Design and optimize real-time inference pipelines for production environments. Develop APIs and distributed systems for large-scale AI workloads. Build event-driven architectures processing video, motion, and analytics data. Optimize backend systems for latency, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with AI, product, and engineering teams to deliver intelligent sports analytics solutions. Build data pipelines, vector search systems, and AI infrastructure supporting machine learning workflows. Improve system observability, monitoring, and operational excellence. Participate in architecture decisions and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap. Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices. Required Skills 5+ years of backend software engineering experience. Strong proficiency in Python. Experience building Computer Vision or Machine Learning applications. Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, or similar frameworks. Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable backend architectures. Experience designing REST APIs and cloud-native services. Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure. Familiarity with event-driven systems, streaming pipelines, and real-time processing. Strong understanding of databases, caching, and backend performance optimization. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with object detection, tracking, pose estimation, or video analytics. Exposure to vector databases, embeddings, retrieval systems, or RAG architectures. Experience building GPU-accelerated inference pipelines. Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration. Experience working on AI products deployed at production scale.
