Shape the Future of Clinical Research. 📍 Location: Berlin or Germany (100% remote, occasional team meetings in Berlin). 💰 Compensation: Above market average (based on experience & skillset). About The Role Carelane is an AI-driven clinical trial platform that has gone from zero to 180 investigator sites across 50 countries in just 14 months. We've raised a total of €3.4M and are accelerating fast. Joining us now means high ownership, high impact, and the kind of development velocity that simply isn't possible at larger companies. Our frontend has been built by backend developers so far, and while improving it is part of the role, this is a true full-stack position. You'll work across the entire stack, from architecting backend services and data models to shaping our customers’ user experience. You'll have significant ownership across disciplines, making pragmatic decisions that move the product forward without relying on a large team. What You'll Be Working On Building and refining our full-stack platform to create a smooth, engaging user experience for clinical researchers and site staff. Making opinionated UX/UI decisions without requiring a dedicated designer. Using React, TypeScript, and Next.js to develop high-quality, maintainable frontend code - backed by solid backend integration. Embedding AI capabilities directly into our SaaS platform to augment clinical workflows. Ensuring scalability and performance while keeping the UI clean and intuitive. Working closely with a small, fast-moving team to ship customer-focused improvements at startup pace. What Makes You a Great Fit ✅ 5+ years of experience in software development, with strong full-stack capability and a clear frontend focus ✅ Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Next.js ✅ Strong sense of UX and UI . You can design and build without a dedicated designer ✅ Ability to make pragmatic, business-driven decisions, not getting lost in perfectionism ✅ Experience embedding AI into SaaS applications (LLM integration, AI-powered features, intelligent workflows) ✅ Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent).
