We are looking for a skilled Python Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and evolution of cutting-edge Big Data platforms and internal solutions aimed at combating web security threats, including automated detection logic and research. Job Description In this role, you will join our Automated Systems and Intelligent Solutions Department, located in Bratislava or Prague. As an experienced Python-oriented Big Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of advancing our big data technologies, leveraging Kubernetes. Your primary responsibilities will include: back-end development, managing terabytes of data on distributed storage systems such as Impala, ScyllaDB, and Apache Druid, working with messaging systems like Apache Kafka, querying data using SQL or in-house alternatives, processing data in parallel using tools like Apache Spark and Flink. You will also: design, implement, and maintain scalable data workflows and pipelines that drive our data-driven decisions collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient handling and transformation of massive datasets, enhancing our detection systems build monitoring and automation pipelines to streamline data processing. have the opportunity to contribute to the design and integration of AI-driven components, such as machine learning pipelines, AI agents, or model-serving infrastructure (e.g., model-serving or MCP-based systems), to enhance detection capabilities and automation (e.g., anomaly detection, threat classification, or automated investigation workflows). What We Are Looking For: While you don’t need to have mastered everything listed below, we are seeking a professional with the following skills and experience: Proficiency in Python programming (experience with Java and C/C++ is also a plus). Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, and RESTful API frameworks (e.g., Flask). Expertise with Apache Kafka and its role in messaging and streaming systems. Solid understanding of NoSQL database such as Apache Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Apache Druid, or HBase. Exposure to AI/ML concepts, LLMs, or experience with AI agents, model serving (e.g., FastAPI, Ray Serve), or MCP-style architectures is a plus. Knowledge of the Linux and Windows operating systems. Familiarity with Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines and automation. Experience with version control systems like Git.
