Description
We are adding a Junior React Developer to help us support a project for our client in Paris. This client needs better ways to manage and visualize their internal operational data, and we are building the tools to make that happen. You will spend your time working on the front end of functional, data-heavy interfaces that help their team work more effectively. This is a fully remote, full-time position where you will work closely with our senior developers to ship code that actually gets used. About Pixel Systems Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything: the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a senior team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends. The role In this position, you will be focused on building out the user interface for internal dashboards. You will not be worrying about complex animations or marketing copy: your goal is to make sure a warehouse manager or a back-office administrator can see their data clearly and act on it without errors. This role is remote, meaning you will need to be comfortable managing your own schedule and communicating through written updates and video calls. Building and maintaining React components for data-heavy internal tools. Connecting front-end interfaces to existing APIs. Cleaning up and documenting legacy code to make it easier for the team to maintain. Participating in weekly demos to show your progress to the team and the client. Writing clear, readable code that other developers can understand without a manual. Testing your work to ensure it handles various data states and edge cases. Collaborating with our senior devs to learn how to structure large-scale React applications. What you bring We are looking for someone who understands the basics of web development and wants to apply those skills to professional projects. You do not need years of experience, but you should have a solid grasp of how the modern web works. We value people who are organized and take pride in the quality of their code, even if the project itself is a simple admin table. Basic familiarity with React and modern JavaScript. A good understanding of HTML and CSS for building layouts. Knowledge of how to fetch data from an API and display it in a UI. The ability to explain your technical choices clearly in English. A preference for simple, functional design over complex or trendy solutions. Organization skills to manage your tasks while working in a remote environment. A willingness to ask questions when you are stuck and learn from feedback. Helpful background While this is an entry-level role, it is helpful if you have tinkered with the tools we use every day. If you have built personal projects or school assignments using the following, you will be well-prepared for this role. Experience using Git and GitHub for version control. Exposure to Node.js or other back-end technologies. Familiarity with relational databases like Postgres. Experience with TypeScript or a desire to learn it. Basic knowledge of CSS frameworks or libraries like Tailwind. Working at Pixel Systems Working here is a bit different than at large agencies or startups. We are small and we stay that way to avoid unnecessary management layers. You will get to work directly with senior engineers who have been doing this for a long time. Because we are fully remote, we rely on tools like Slack and GitHub to stay in touch, but we keep meetings to a minimum so everyone can focus on their work. This is a paid position with competitive compensation that reflects the importance of the role within our team. Our focus is on shipping software that works and solves a problem for a human being. Whether it is helping a client in Paris manage their workflow or automating a data migration, we find satisfaction in the practical results of our code. There is no drama here, just a group of people who enjoy building stable systems and helping each other get better at the craft of software development.
