🚀 Senior Frontend Developer | Narwhal Labs | Bristol, UK (must be able to commit to 3 days per week in the office | £60,000 + DOE We're Narwhal Labs — the team behind DeepBlue OS, an autonomous revenue infrastructure platform that helps businesses answer every call, follow up every lead, and log every interaction across Voice, SMS, Email and WhatsApp. As an NVIDIA Inception Program Member and Google Partner, we're building the infrastructure layer for serious businesses that want enterprise-grade revenue operations without the enterprise price tag. The Role We're looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to lead the architecture and deployment of high-performance interfaces using React and Next.js — while mentoring junior developers and championing frontend excellence across the team. We work the way our product enables our customers to work: using AI to move faster, automate the repeatable, and focus judgement where it matters most. You'll bring an "AI-first, judgement-always" mindset, using tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor as a core part of your daily workflow. What You'll Do 🔹 Build and maintain responsive, high-performance interfaces with React, Next.js, and TypeScript 🔹 Use AI coding assistants to scaffold components, generate tests, and write documentation — and help junior devs build fluency with them 🔹 Provide mentorship and code reviews, and help shape frontend best practices 🔹 Contribute to architecture decisions around state management, performance, and code organisation 🔹 Implement testing strategies and continuously improve performance and SEO What We're Looking For ✅ 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience, with deep React/Next.js expertise ✅ Strong TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 skills ✅ Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, or Recoil) ✅ A design-centric approach to engineering, with strong accessibility (WCAG) knowledge ✅ A track record of mentoring junior developers ✅ Real experience using AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to boost delivery speed and code quality ✅ Familiarity with modern build tools (Vite, Webpack, Turbopack) and CI/CD workflows Bonus Points For ⭐ Experience with design systems or component libraries (MUI, Tailwind, Storybook) ⭐ Backend/full-stack familiarity — Node.js, serverless, API orchestration ⭐ A strong grasp of Core Web Vitals and technical SEO ⭐ Expertise with testing frameworks (Jest, RTL, Cypress, Playwright) ⭐ A history of introducing AI tooling that measurably improved team velocity What We Offer 💡 Direct ownership of mission-critical AI initiatives 💡 Autonomy to steer technical direction and architect systems 💡 A flexible, results-oriented environment with a highly competitive package 📍 Bristol, UK | Full-time, permanent Interested?
