Python / Azure Developer £500/day | Outside IR35 | 6 Month Contract | 1x/Month in Leeds or London We're looking for an experienced Python / Azure Developer to join a major public sector digital programme delivering secure, scalable cloud-based services. This is an opportunity to work on projects that have a genuine impact across the NHS and wider government landscape. Please note: Previous NHS or Central Government experience is essential . What You'll Be Doing Designing, developing and maintaining cloud-native applications using Python and Microsoft Azure. Building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices. Developing secure, scalable solutions using Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Storage, Key Vault and Azure SQL. Working closely with architects, DevOps engineers, BAs and product teams in an Agile environment. Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation. Writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code and supporting code reviews. Essential Skills Strong commercial experience developing with Python . Hands-on experience across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Experience building APIs and microservices. Knowledge of Azure Functions, App Services, Storage Accounts, Key Vault and Azure SQL. Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or Bicep. Strong understanding of Agile delivery and modern software engineering practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Previous NHS or Central Government experience is essential. Nice to Have Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of Azure Container Apps or AKS. Experience with React or TypeScript.
