L/S Equity Analyst, Biotech

A leading global investment management firm is seeking a Long/Short Equity Analyst focused on Biotech to join its healthcare investment team in London. The successful candidate will work closely with a Portfolio Manager covering the broader healthcare sector, with a specific focus on identifying and underwriting opportunities within biotech equities . This is an opportunity to join a high-performing investment platform with a fundamental, research-driven approach. Key Responsibilities: Conduct deep fundamental research on publicly traded biotech companies. Develop differentiated investment theses and generate long/short ideas. Analyze clinical data, drug pipelines, trial readouts, regulatory developments, market dynamics, and company valuations. Build financial models, perform company due diligence, and present investment recommendations. Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to support portfolio construction and risk management. Ideal Background: Experience in Long/Short Equity investing is required . Strong preference for candidates with dedicated biotech equity research coverage . Backgrounds from healthcare-focused hedge funds, long/short equity funds, or biotech investment teams. Strong understanding of biotech companies, clinical development processes, and healthcare markets. Excellent fundamental research, modeling, and communication skills.
