Python Developer

Experience & Required Skill Set 4+ years of experience in backend development using Python , with strong exposure to Data Engineering (DE) . Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines , ETL/ELT processes, and data-intensive applications. Strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS . Proficiency in Snowflake for database design, optimization, and data warehousing. Experience working with structured and unstructured data, ensuring efficient data processing and transformation. Demonstrated ability to build dynamic and static reports using Python libraries such as Pandas, Matplotlib, and Plotly . Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture . Hands-on experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI/Tornado . Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (SQL/NoSQL). Experience with version control systems, particularly Git . Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software development best practices. Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability. Develop and maintain Data Engineering solutions , including ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion frameworks, and large-scale data processing workflows. Build and manage data-intensive applications while ensuring high data quality and governance. Create dynamic and static reports using Python libraries such as Pandas, Matplotlib, and Plotly to generate actionable business insights. Develop and maintain backend applications using Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI/Tornado. Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms, primarily AWS , and work with Beacon where applicable. Design, implement, and optimize database solutions using Snowflake to ensure scalability and performance. Collaborate closely with Tech Owners, Data Engineers, Architects, and Business Owners to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Take ownership of assigned projects from design through deployment with minimal supervision. Follow software engineering best practices, including code reviews, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD. Leverage GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development productivity and code quality. Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues to ensure timely delivery. Good to Have Experience with Data Engineering tools and technologies such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Apache Spark, Kafka, or AWS Glue . AWS Certified Developer, AWS Data Engineer, or equivalent cloud certifications. Experience in the Asset Management or Financial Services domain. Experience with DevOps practices and tools. Knowledge of application and cloud security best practices. Familiarity with Beacon cloud services. Experience with GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot. Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
