Python Developer Location: Budapest, Hungary Employment Type: Permanent / Full-Time Experience: 4–6 Years Job Summary We are looking for a skilled Python Developer with 4–6 years of professional experience to join our engineering team in Budapest, Hungary. The ideal candidate will have strong Python programming skills, experience building scalable applications and REST APIs, and a solid understanding of software engineering best practices. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain reliable software solutions while contributing to application performance, code quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Python. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services. Write clean, reusable, efficient, and well-documented code. Work with relational databases and optimise queries and data access. Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, QA engineers, and business stakeholders. Develop automated unit tests and support integration and functional testing. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects and performance issues. Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards. Work with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines. Support application deployment and maintenance across development, testing, and production environments. Contribute to technical design discussions and recommend improvements to application architecture. Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and deliver work within agreed timelines. Required Skills and Experience 4–6 years of hands-on professional experience in Python development. Strong understanding of Python fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and common design patterns. Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI . Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend applications. Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices. Understanding of unit testing frameworks such as Pytest or unittest. Familiarity with debugging, performance optimisation, and application troubleshooting. Knowledge of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and code review practices. Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Docker and containerised applications. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines. Experience with asynchronous programming, background tasks, or message queues. Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems. Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis. Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting. Experience working in an international, multicultural engineering team. Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
