Description
We are partnering with an AI-native medical practice on a mission to multiply the world’s healthcare capacity. Their vision is simple: everyone should have access to personalised, physician-supervised care, whenever they need it. They’re building a new front door to primary care, combining AI with an in-house clinical team to deliver care through a messaging-first experience, available 24/7. Now, they’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer specialising in Frontend to shape the experiences patients and physicians use every day. The opportunity With around 25 engineers, the team is expanding beyond full-stack generalists and bringing in specialists. You’ll have significant ownership over how the product looks, feels and performs, while staying closely connected to backend engineering, AI and Product. Your work will help patients access care more easily and give physicians the information they need to make informed clinical decisions. That means thoughtful interfaces, strong technical foundations and a real understanding of the people using what you build. What you’ll build The patient experience: Own and improve the messaging-first app and website, making them polished, fast and accessible. The clinician workspace: Bring complex patient information, including wearable data, into clear interfaces that help physicians see what matters at the right time. AI-powered product experiences: Work with backend and AI teams to turn LLM capabilities, partner integrations and chronic-condition care features into useful products. Frontend foundations: Shape architecture, design systems, state management, testing and web performance across TypeScript, React and Next.js. Improvements informed by real users: Iterate directly with the practice’s own physicians and a growing Product team. What you’ll bring You’ll likely have 5–10 years of engineering experience , with at least five years building production frontend software and strong evidence of shipping complex, consumer-facing applications. We’re looking for: Deep fluency in TypeScript, JavaScript, React and Next.js . Excellent CSS, animation and design systems skills, with a strong eye for usability and detail. Strong computer science fundamentals and an understanding of backend systems, APIs and the wider consequences of frontend decisions. Experience working across the stack and collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines. Familiarity with AI/ML or LLM product applications . Experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup, ideally Series A–C. A bachelor’s degree. Healthcare or regulated-industry startup experience would be a strong bonus. Above all, you care about the product. You can explain how your decisions improved the experience for users, and you’re comfortable taking ownership from an initial idea through to production. The details Salary: US$190,000–$220,000 plus competitive equity. Location: Hybrid in New York City; office attendance requirements will be discussed during the process. Employment: Full-time. Relocation: No relocation support. Work authorisation: US employment eligibility is required and verified through E-Verify. Visa transfers may be considered. Interview process: Four stages, including live coding where you’ll need to write code without assistance. If you want your engineering work to help people get the care they need, we’d love to hear from you. Apply with your CV and a brief example of a consumer-facing product you’ve helped build, outlining what you owned and the difference it made.
