Senior Data Engineer (Python)

About the Role We're looking for a senior engineer to own the Python data pipelines behind a data-heavy product . They pull data in from many third-party platforms, process and analyze it at scale, and deliver the results into customers' systems. You'll work in a small team next to the app developers, and take work from design through infrastructure, deploy and production fixes. What You'll Do Build and run Python batch jobs in the cloud, on schedules or triggered by the app. Write and tune heavy analytical SQL at billion-row scale, including fixing out-of-memory failures. Analyze the data, not just move it, and help shape the matching logic and models that decide what the system sends out. Build and maintain integrations with many third-party platforms, handling each API's rate limits, retries, time zones and backfills. Move data safely between analytical and relational databases under heavy concurrent writes, and plan multi-step production migrations. Manage infrastructure as code, deploy through CI/CD, and keep monitoring in place: error tracking, alerts, reconciliation jobs. Track cloud costs across providers and split them per customer. Build product features on top of LLM APIs. What You Bring 5+ years of production Python, mainly data pipelines or backend services. Strong SQL and hands-on experience with a large-scale columnar database or warehouse, such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift. Which one matters less than knowing how it behaves at scale. Solid cloud experience, ideally AWS, and infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar). Experience integrating unreliable third-party REST APIs. Daily use of AI coding tools, and the judgment to review what they produce. Comfort owning work end to end with little oversight, shipping small changes often, and writing clear runbooks. Good written and spoken English. Nice to Have ClickHouse in production. Building features on LLM APIs. Email marketing or ad-tech background. Cloud cost reporting (FinOps).
