Backend Developer

Job Description Vates is a French software company specializing in Open Source and virtualization, with a strong commitment to open and collaborative development. Our main projects, Xen Orchestra and XCP-ng, cover the entire virtualization stack — from the hypervisor (Xen) and the virtualization platform (XCP-ng) to virtual machine management and backup (Xen Orchestra). Our company operates in an international environment, working fully remotely, fluent English required. Your Responsibilities Participate in the development of new backend features in line with product specifications Ensure corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing code Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration) Provide advanced technical support to users and internal teams Contribute to the writing and updating of technical and user documentation Ensure compliance with security, performance, and software quality standards Participate in defining functional and technical specifications in collaboration with product teams Contribute to the improvement of development tools, procedures, and practices Required Skills Backend development using Node.js + TypeScript REST API development and integration knowledges of Database management knowledge of CI/CD pipeline implementation knowledge of Cloud and container technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) Version control with Git Linux environment administration Working with agile methodology Teamwork and collaboration Communication skills Proactivity Ability to handle pressure and deadlines Adaptability and flexibility Time management and prioritization Autonomy and accountability Curiosity and continuous learning mindset Organizational skills Why join us?
