Backend Engineer (Python/AWS)

**Presently we are unable to sponsor and request applicants to apply who are authorized to work without sponsorship** Senior Backend Engineer (Python/AWS) Location: Plano, TX - Onsite Position Summary Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Python, API Development, and AWS Cloud to build scalable, secure, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with microservices, serverless architectures, containers, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS services. Key Responsibilities Design and develop backend services and REST APIs using Python (FastAPI/Flask) . Build cloud-native and serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, and Step Functions . Deploy and manage containerized applications on ECS/Fargate and EKS/Kubernetes . Implement event-driven architectures using SQS, SNS, and EventBridge . Design and optimize data solutions using RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redis/ElastiCache . Automate infrastructure using Terraform and/or CloudFormation . Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or AWS DevOps tools. Implement monitoring, logging, security, and reliability best practices using CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, and OpenTelemetry . Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentor junior engineers. Required Skills Python, FastAPI, Flask REST API & Microservices Development AWS Core Services & Serverless Docker, ECS/Fargate, EKS/Kubernetes Terraform, CloudFormation CI/CD (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline) RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redis SQS, SNS, EventBridge IAM, KMS, VPC Networking CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry Git, Code Reviews, SRE Practices Preferred Experience with Kafka/MSK or Kinesis AWS Certifications Strong technical leadership and communication skills Experience in enterprise-scale cloud environments.
