A leading global financial-technology firm is hiring a backend engineer for its Threat Intelligence & Forensics team to modernize the systems that store, source, and correlate threat data across the enterprise. This is deep backend work — schema design, clean API interfaces, a company-wide IAM rollout, and a new client library that becomes the drop-in standard for security teams across the organization. What you'll do Design database schemas and migrate to internally managed relational stores Build and evolve REST APIs and middleware Refactor services to consume clean APIs and shed direct DB coupling Ship a new IAM-aware client library used across multiple security teams Own testing (unit → e2e) and performance tuning under load What you bring Strong Python (the core requirement) REST APIs, relational + NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) Linux + distributed systems, CI/CD, debugging, performance optimization Bonus: Redis, Solr/OpenSearch
