Python Developer

Job Summary For Python Developer (Jersey City - Hybrid) Design, develop, and maintain robust Python scripts to automate and orchestrate complex data workflows across on-prem Oracle 19c systems. Lead the migration of legacy Perl/PLSQL job scheduling logic into modular, auditable, and fault-tolerant Apache Airflow DAGs. Build and integrate custom Airflow operators and sensors for Oracle databases, REST APIs, SFTP/FTP, and external triggers. Implement strong error handling, alerting, and retry mechanisms to ensure data quality, traceability, and recoverability. Collaborate with DBAs and application teams to understand and document job dependencies, critical paths, and data lineage. Develop and maintain job execution logs, audit trails, and SLA monitoring dashboards for operational transparency. Participate in code reviews, documentation, and onboarding of new jobs into the orchestration platform. Utilize experience with job schedulers (e.g., RunMyJobs, Autosys) and modernize legacy financial data workflows. Apply financial domain knowledge, especially in data models and governance, to support critical enterprise data processes. Utilize tools such as Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for version-controlled job deployments. Required Experience 5+ years Python development, 2+ years Apache Airflow (production DAGs) Strong Oracle 19c, SQL/PLSQL, and job orchestration experience Financial data workflow experience in recent projects Familiarity with REST APIs, SFTP, and automation best practices Hands-on with CI/CD, Git, and modern software delivery practices Understanding of data governance, audit, and operational risk in financial systems
