You'll build and integrate interfaces with external healthcare systems, contribute to development processes, and take on increasing technical responsibility. Key responsibilities Backend Development: Develop and continuously improve the backend of the native app for AI-supported gait analysis using Python and Django Collaborative Implementation: Implement technical requirements in collaboration with experienced developers, contributing to ongoing backend development Requirements Support: Support the refinement of requirements and help turn them into clear, implementation-ready development tickets Healthcare Integration: Develop and integrate interfaces with external healthcare systems, third-party services, and APIs Best Practices: Apply technical standards and best practices, contributing to continuous improvement of development processes Quality Assurance: Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain reliable version control CI/CD Support: Support the further development of CI/CD, monitoring, and release processes Regulatory Awareness: Take regulatory, data protection, and cybersecurity requirements into account when implementing solutions Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with experienced developers, Product Management, Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Development Documentation Support: Support creation of technical and regulatory documentation, audits, security assessments, penetration tests, and approval processes Candidate requirements Professional Experience: Several years of professional software development experience (3-4 years, excluding working-student time), ideally in medical software, digital health, or software as a medical device Python/Django Skills: Good practical knowledge of Python and Django in current, regular use Database & API Experience: Experience with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and basic authentication/authorization concepts Architecture Understanding: Solid understanding of software architectures, scalable systems, secure coding, and maintainable technical solutions Development Practices: Initial experience with CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and code reviews Independent Delivery: Demonstrable independent delivery of backend features within existing systems Collaborative Mindset: Enjoyment of collaborating with other developers and participating in technical exchange and constructive code reviews Structured Approach: Independent and structured working style with willingness to take on technical responsibility English Communication: Good English communication skills (German language not required) Desirable (but not required): Experience with React or comparable modern frontend technologies Knowledge of DiGA, MDR, GDPR, BSI, data protection, and cybersecurity Initial experience integrating external healthcare systems, third-party services, or APIs German language skills Benefits and perks Professional Growth: Develop expertise in medical technology software while working alongside experienced developers Meaningful Impact: Contribute to healthcare technology that improves patient outcomes through gait analysis Collaborative Learning: Learn from senior developers in code reviews and technical exchanges Full Remote Flexibility: Work remotely from Eastern European countries with permanent, full-time employment Career Development: Build foundational experience in regulated healthcare software with clear growth pathway
