Software Engineer Location : Manchester (Hybrid) Salary Banding : £50k - £66k A leading global technology and consulting organisation is hiring Software Engineers to join a major Software & Platform Engineering team in Manchester, building modern cloud-native applications for large-scale private and public sector clients. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building production-quality software, working in agile teams, and delivering scalable applications across cloud, serverless, containerised and CI/CD-led environments. You’ll be joining a large engineering community, building products and platforms that can impact millions of users across sectors including public sector, blue-chip enterprise and high-growth scale-ups. What you’ll be doing: Building traditional and serverless applications and services Integrating applications with data stores, message buses and wider architecture Deploying applications using containers, cloud services and CI/CD pipelines Supporting production observability, maintainability and performance Writing clean, secure, well-tested software Using unit, integration and contract testing Delivering small to medium-sized pieces of engineering work in agile teams Tech you’ll use: Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, C# or modern frontend frameworks AWS preferred, with Azure or GCP also useful Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi or similar IaC tools GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI or ArgoCD Containers, serverless, CI/CD, testing and observability tooling What you’ll bring: A few years’ commercial software engineering experience Strong hands-on coding and debugging ability Cloud-native development experience Exposure to CI/CD and secure software delivery Good communication and collaboration skills This would suit a mid-level Software Engineer who wants to move beyond traditional application development and work across modern cloud, platform and product engineering environments.
