Description

Greeting you from Capco At Capco, our Values guide how we work, how we lead, and how we make decisions every day. They define what we stand for as a company and set the standards we hold ourselves to — with our clients, our colleagues, and our communities. Our Values are the foundation of who we are. They reflect our people-first culture and remind us that our success is built on integrity, collaboration, and purpose. - Design and implement automated test strategies across unit, API/service, integration, and (where appropriate) UI layers, with a strong preference for automation over manual testing. - Create and maintain robust unit test suites that validate behaviour, edge cases, and failure modes. - Investigate defects by reproducing issues, isolating root causes, and partnering with engineers to resolve them quickly. - Improve testability of systems by influencing design (e.g., dependency injection, clear interfaces, observability hooks). - Build and maintain test frameworks, utilities, and reusable test data patterns to increase coverage and reduce maintenance cost. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast feedback and reliable quality gates. - Track and communicate quality risks, test results, and release readiness using clear, actionable reporting. - Promote quality engineering practices (shift-left testing, code reviews for tests, contract testing, mocking/stubbing, test pyramid). - Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, including performance, resilience, and security testing where relevant. Skills & Experience Strong experience in automated testing and quality engineering within modern software delivery teams. - Solid understanding of unit testing fundamentals (arrange/act/assert, mocking, test isolation, deterministic tests, coverage vs confidence). - Hands-on ability to write production-quality tests and improve existing code using tests as a safety net. - Experience with one or more languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, Go, Kotlin, Swift. - Familiarity with CI/CD and test automation tooling (e.g., Git-based workflows, pipeline execution, reporting). - Practical knowledge of testing techniques: boundary analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing, exploratory approaches (as a complement to automation). - Strong communication and collaboration skills—able to challenge constructively and align teams on quality outcomes.
