Java Developer

Job Description You develop and maintain data pipelines and backend services, with a focus on data engineering and backend development. You work with existing building blocks in Java 21, Python and Go, but also actively think about new components in a greenfield architecture. You set up ELT processes and manage data integrations from different source systems to the data lake and data warehouse. You will build and maintain backend APIs and services that are at the core of the content platform. You work closely with the solution architect to coordinate technical choices and expand the architecture. You monitor data quality, performance and scalability of the solutions. You work in an Agile/Scrum environment and contribute to code reviews, testing and documentation. Who are you? You have at least 5 years of experience in software development and/or data engineering, preferably in complex or large-scale projects. You have experience with one or more backend languages (e.g. Java, Python, Go). You have experience with AWS Services such as lambda, sqs, eventbridge, aurora postgresql and dynamodb. You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation) and DevOps principles. You are a strong communicator and a real team player. You have experience working in an Agile/Scrum team. You have experience with a CMS (content management system). You are open-minded, eager to learn and willing to question existing assumptions. You have a good knowledge of Dutch. In addition, you also have the following experience and skills: You have experience in the media sector. You have experience with container technology (Docker) and CI/CD. You have experience with event-driven architectures and layered construction within microservices. You have knowledge of design patterns such as observer/listener, chain of responsibility, strategy. You have experience with Quarkus. You have a knowledge of data architecture, ELT processes and workflow orchestration (e.g. Apache Airflow). You have experience with AEMYou have experience with Prepr.
