Software Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with one of our top clients in the Detroit area, is seeking a talented Java Developer! The right candidate will assist in a legacy migration primarily working in a tech stack consisting of Java/J2EE and AWS. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON W2 WITHOUT SPONSORSHIP! Desired Skills: Extensive hands-on development experience with Java/J2EE applications utilizing components such as JSP, servlets, and controllers Extensive experience in writing complex PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers Expertise in database schema design, normalization, and performance tuning Strong ability to manage and troubleshoot legacy applications using Unix system commands, shell scripting, process management, log analysis, and performance monitoring tools Experience with CI/CD framework (e.g., Git, Jenkins) and deployments in Tomcat, Weblogic, or JBoss Strong understanding of Core Java concepts like Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread-safe code Experience working with Terraform, IAM, and other AWS modules Experience with JWT, OAuth2, OKTA, and other authentication and authorization frameworks Domain expertise in auto insurance Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with web application servers like Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss Experience with DevOps practices and CICD model of development Hands-on development experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS) including ECS Fargate, Lambda
