Backend Software Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer who enjoys building long-lived systems with strong engineering fundamentals rather than chasing trends. You will join teams that evolve complex business domains through collaboration, clear modeling, sustainable architecture, and pragmatic software craftsmanship. You will work closely with engineers, analysts, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to design and evolve systems using Domain-Driven Design techniques such as event storming, domain storytelling, and collaborative modeling sessions. What you will do: Design and implement back-office systems on the Java platform Contribute to domain modeling and bounded context design Build full-stack applications containing APIs/messaging integrations, and relational data models Develop maintainable and testable software with strong automated test coverage Participate in collaborative design discussions and architecture refinement Improve existing systems through incremental refactoring and focused modernization Document designs, flows and business rules Participate in code reviews and support other engineers through pair programming Desired skills and experience: Professional experience developing backend applications in Java for at least 3 years Good understanding of object-oriented design principles Familiarity with modern Java/JEE frameworks and concepts such as services, repositories, entities, and aggregates Solid knowledge and experience of SQL and relational databases Solid knowledge and experience in building REST and/or SOAP APIs Understanding of messaging systems and asynchronous processing concepts Familiarity with Git, Maven, Linux-based development environments Experience writing automated tests: (unit tests, integration tests, API/service-level tests) We value colleagues who: Communicate clearly and collaborate respectfully Can reason about business domains, not only technical implementations Care about sustainable software design and long-term maintainability Enjoy learning through discussion, experimentation and refactoring Create value by respectfully questioning and refining ideas through feedback Benefits: Competitive compensation, according to qualifications Group Medical & Pension Insurance Plan Professional development plan & specialization in a high-demand market Daily exposure on top-notch practices and methodologies Values based, fun and fast-paced environment Hybrid working model, with the flexibility to customize remote working according to the needs of each team Please note: The salary range for this role will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process upon request.
