SDE-1 – Frontend Engineer

About Yappes Yappes is building a modern API management and integration platform that helps organizations design, secure, publish, consume, monitor, and govern APIs through a unified platform. We are looking for an SDE-1 – Frontend Engineer who enjoys building polished, scalable, intuitive web applications and wants to work on a product used by developers, API teams, platform administrators, and enterprise customers. What You’ll Do Build responsive, high-quality web interfaces for the Yappes platform. Develop reusable frontend components and UI patterns. Translate product requirements and Figma designs into production-ready interfaces. Work closely with Product, UX/UI, and Backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features. Build complex interfaces such as: API management dashboards API/API Group management API marketplace Developer portal API policy configuration Authentication and security configuration Analytics and monitoring dashboards User, organization, and role management API subscription and lifecycle workflows Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend services. Handle loading, error, empty, and edge states thoughtfully. Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code. Debug UI and integration issues and improve application performance. Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices. Write unit/integration tests for important frontend functionality. Contribute to improving frontend architecture, development standards, and developer experience. Required Skills 1–3 years of professional experience in frontend development. Strong knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript. Strong experience with React.js. Good understanding of: HTML5 CSS3 Responsive design Browser fundamentals REST APIs JSON Git Experience building reusable React components. Understanding of state management concepts. Ability to consume and integrate backend APIs. Good debugging and problem-solving skills. Understanding of frontend performance and basic security practices. Good understanding of asynchronous programming, promises, and API error handling. Good to Have Experience with Next.js. Experience with TypeScript-heavy React applications. Experience with component libraries such as MUI, Mantine, or similar. Experience with Redux, Zustand, React Query/TanStack Query, or similar state/data-management libraries. Experience with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, or Cypress/Playwright. Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD. Understanding of API gateways, API management, authentication, OAuth 2.0, JWT, or microservices. Experience building enterprise SaaS applications or developer-focused products.
