Description

About the Company We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to modernize a large SAP Commerce Cloud platform through AI-assisted engineering, context engineering, and durable workflow orchestration. About the Role A central responsibility of this role is designing business processes that remain reliable across service failures, deployments, retries, and long execution periods. The engineer should understand Temporal-style programming models and be able to apply the same principles using Temporal, Cadence, Azure Durable Functions, Conductor, or a comparable platform. This is a hands-on engineering role—not an AI strategy or prompt-engineering position. Key Responsibilities Develop and support SAP Commerce Cloud using Java, Spring, OCC, and REST APIs. Design durable workflows for cart, order, inventory, and recovery processes using Temporal or comparable platforms. Build workflows supporting retries, idempotency, failure recovery, compensation, versioning, and operational visibility. Integrate workflows with SAP Commerce, Kafka, databases, APIs, and external services. Develop automated testing for workflows, integrations, and failure scenarios. Apply AI coding and context-engineering tools to development, testing, documentation, and incident response. Troubleshoot SAP Commerce performance and production issues. Required Qualifications 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering distributed production systems. 5+ years of SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris experience or similar enterprise commerce platform development. 5+ years of Java and Spring development experience. Experience with React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript. Hands-on experience with Temporal, Cadence, Azure Durable Functions, AWS Step Functions, Conductor, or similar workflow technology. Strong understanding of workflow orchestration, retries, idempotency, event-driven systems, and failure recovery. Kafka or comparable messaging experience. Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic engineering tools. Strong testing, debugging, performance analysis, and production support skills. Preferred Qualifications Temporal Java SDK experience. SAP Commerce 2211, Java 21, and Spring 6 experience. Experience with Kubernetes, Azure, OpenTelemetry, or Dynatrace. Experience building AI agents, MCP integrations, or retrieval-augmented development systems. Equal Employment Opportunity Eight Eleven Group is an equal opportunity employer. The Company hires, transfers, and promotes on the basis of ability, without consideration of disability, age, sex, race, color, religion, height, weight, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin, or any factor contrary to federal, state or local law. *Please note that the ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship is a requirement. SALARY RANGE: 140k-160k
