Backend Developer III FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Lead Developer, Identity Solutions Location: Dallas, TX (open to remote) About the Company: Highway is the fastest-growing freight tech provider in North America. Role Description Freight brokers put an incredible amount of trust in Highway and that trust will be extended to you. This role will be responsible for backend development of Highway’s products. Your role: Responsible for the development of backend solutions for Highway. Build and maintain the backend (Ruby on Rails) codebase, along with other team members. Periodically monitor backend applications and associated AWS stack, along with other team members. Work cohesively with other developers on the team. Participate in daily standups. Conduct code reviews with other developers. Manage project/task progress in JIRA. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field required. 8 - 10 + years of experience in backend development, preferably in a SaaS environment. Previous experience building & maintaining backend solutions with Ruby on Rails codebase. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams.
